The version on the previous page is performed by Bill Bartilson (BeeFour) and his daughter Jenny. Bill is a long time friend of mine from Lansing MI. He's well known in the capital city area for being a fine guitarist, eclectic but a bit on the bluesy side. His technical ability is unsurpassed and many other guitarists seek his advice after hearing his sweet tone. The song is really just a quick demo he produced while learning the basics of his newly purchased Digidesign Digi001 recording system. The 001 was a Christmas Gift to himself. Jenny is a fine singer who I've known since she was little. Bill promises to produce a complete version before next Christmas. I hope to give a hand in that myself, since I have a couple of Christmas songs in the works myself. The song is one that I grew quite fond of while it played during the Christmas seasons on our office mp3 jukebox. The great words and a bluesy chord progression and melody line are right up my alley. Bill's gentle touch on the guitar and the quick blues licks at the beginning really set the mood. Jenny's earthy voice lends just a hint of darkness that accents the lyric. I hope you enjoy this quick little demo and remember to check in next year to hear the final version! mjv
